After 8 long months, I finally got to eat my favorite pistachio cupcake from Sugar Sweet Sunshine…words cannot explain the state of ecstasy I’m currently in. Anyways, since I was in such a cheerful mood, I went through all the emails that had compiled in my inbox in search of some good music. Just happened to stumble upon a group called Sonic Truth and some of their remixes and mash-ups. Not feeling them all, but I was kinda diggin’ the mash-up “Thinking of Camay” – (Cat Power vs Ghostface)…check it out below…and then grab their 6-pack sampler here.
A friend sent me this Dilla mix, Midnight Snack, awhile ago, so I thought it would be appropriate to share it with ya’ll today since it is the 3rd anniversary of his death. Mixed by a dude named RP3, it revolves around Dilla’s smoother and jazzier tracks, which happen to be my fav. There will be tracks you will recognize, and others you have never heard, but all in all it’s a tasty little mix. So put down those milk and cookies, and take a listen to this instead. Download here.
