Ummmm yes…Yelle is back! Nice to finally hear something from new from my favorite Parisienne. Commissioned by iTunes and their Foreign Exchange series (wonder if Phonte and Nicolay have anything to say about that?), the song is a cover of Swedish pop sensation Robyn‘s “Who’s That Girl”. I’m stoked for the release of the Heroes album, from War Child International. Take the greatest living legends in music, have them choose a band they deem worthy enough to cover a song from their own back catalog, and what do you get? Nothing short of amazing. From Beck covering Bob Dylan, to The Like (a personal favorite) covering Elvis Costello, this will not only be a great album musically, but the proceeds will go to help children victimized by war. So be sure mark down February 16th in your calendar.

It’s about 2:00 am and I am full from eating Chinese fondue and drinking Prunelle de Bourgogne (which is now my new favorite drink). However I promised a friend of mine that I would post a special Nick Drake song for her. It’s a cover by Irish singer Lisa Hannigan (you probably know her from her collaborations with Damien Rice), and is by far one of the most chilling songs I have ever heard.
